Junkers
Quick and Simple Guide

The Junkers’ blood has special cells that help neutralize the effects of radiation poisoning. These cells break and change color, making the blood vessels bright green or blue.

Materials:

  • Black Light Glow Face & Body Paint***

  • Blue Squid Pro: Professional Face and Body Paint

  • Makeup brushes (included in body paint)

*** We struggled to use the liquid paint. We now suggest a dry pallet, like Meicoly UC Neon Party Paint. It is much easier to control the application.

You may also consider the use of alcohol-activated makeup pallets, which will not run off from sweat! They are more expensive, and you have to be careful near the eyes, but the application is about the same.

Steps

  • Plan out your look. If you want a more medically accurate blood vessel structure, look up facial artery and vein images. If you want a more artistic or free-form look, do some sketches or just think about roughly where the veins will go.

  • Wash face and moisturize.

  • Select a dark dark green or blue standard body paint and a neon UV green or blue body paint. Set up a small water dish (like the lid to the pallet) and wet your brushes.

    1. If you add too much water, your paint will be transparent and bleed or run.

    2. Too little water and you won’t be able to pick up the pigment.

  • Paint the darker color along the path you planned out.

    1. Try to take long, confident strokes with thick paint to prevent scraggly edges.

    2. Lighten your pressure and lift up to make smaller, more delicate vessels. Try to lift up at the end of your brush stroke to create a natural taper.

    3. The smaller the blood vessel, the more squiggly it becomes.

  • Use the lighter UV Neon Body Paint and trace the darker vessels with a smaller, lighter touch, so that it highlights the dark vessel rather than completely covering it. You don’t need to draw along every single vessel.

  • Seal the face paint with a Barrier Spray to protect from sweat and smudging, such as Mehron Barrier Spray. *Many people have sensitivities to Barrier Sprays, so test a small patch of skin before covering your face in a product.

Junkers
Advanced Guide

The Junkers’ blood has special cells that help neutralize the effects of radiation poisoning. These cells break and change color, making the blood vessels bright green or blue.

The body is still damaged, and blood leaks into the surrounding tissue, causing bruising and sometimes external bleeding.

Materials:

  • Black Light Glow Face & Body Paint***

  • Blue Squid Pro: Professional Face and Body Paint

  • Makeup brushes (included in body paint)

  • Noctex Antiquity palette for bruise base

  • KVD liquid lipstick in Medusa's Head

  • Danessa Myricks Twin Flames (liquid eyeshadow) in Sweetheart

  • Assorted makeup brushes

*** We struggled to use the liquid paint. We now suggest a dry pallet, like Meicoly UC Neon Party Paint. It is much easier to control the application.

Steps

  • Map out where the most veins will be with bruising. Adjust bruise colors to your skin tone, lay down mottled purple, blue, yellow, hints of red. I brushed over large areas with a blush brush then added mottled details with a small eyeshadow brush.

  • Base color and shape for your veins in a darker color. This is so it will be visible in daylight, not just blacklight. I used a very thin brush and the KVD liquid lipstick. Veins are squiggly, not spiky!

  • Add UV reactive paint over the veins you've already done. It makes them look a bit more neon in daylight, and will make them glow under blacklight.

  • Very optional: add a bit of duochrome or sparkle that matches the color scheme to accent bits of the veining. I wanted it to catch the light a bit even when in full sun.
