Om-Kah roughly translates to “The Final People.” Om-Kah know that long ago their people covered the world and built unbelievable wonders. Then they made the Sil-Kah, The Shadow People -- robots that cut down their towers like trees, shot their ships from the sky like geese, and nearly wiped all people from the face of Theig.

Some survived. They could not rebuild their old world or the Sil-Kah would find and destroy them. Over the generations, they learned how to avoid the robots’ attention.

Today, Om-Kah live all across Theig in self-sufficient, nomadic tribes. Agriculture and long-term dwellings are impossible without being detected by the Sil-Kah. However, without the impact of development and industry, Theig has returned to a state of natural abundance. This allows Om-Kah to hunt, fish, herd, and gather everything they need to thrive.

Hunting Sil-Kah has become a necessary part of Om-Kah life, using their parts for everything from cooking, light and warmth to weapons and armor. Almost every Om-Kah has at least some technological knowledge (at least enough to jury-rig a hot plate from a security drone). There are even those that use ancient crowns to speak the Sil-Kah’s language and control them, though this is often seen as a dark and dangerous practice.

In addition to pigments, animal skins, and jewelry, the Om-Kah wear trophies made from the carcasses of their robot prey. In many tribes across the globe it has become popular to decorate their horns with precious metals found on the machines’ inner workings.

Ruins of fallen cities lie scattered all over Theig. Lifetimes of overgrowth, erosion, and scavenging have left little to reclaim, but brave few still plumb the untouched depths of sealed vaults and entombed skyscrapers to recover powerful artifacts.

Each tribe must stay relatively small to avoid detection, and rely on family and community to survive. Despite hardship, the Om-Kah don't live in desperate brutality. Instead, the cultural default is cooperation, mutual responsibility, and compassion.

Om-Kah are more than the remnants of a long forgotten civilization. All across Theig, they have made new cultures, thriving on the abundance provided by the earth, their families, and the machines that once attempted to destroy them.
