Sunless
Quick and Simple Guide

“Eye bag” bruising is caused when extreme neurological processing bursts blood vessels in the sinuses surrounding the eye.

Makeup Notes

Which makeup to choose is incredibly dependent on skin tone and complexion. The listed brands and products are what were used in the Guide, but you’ll have to find what works for you.

  • Anything from the drug store is fine. I just used what I had lying around.

  • For dark skin tones, you may need to use face paint, like the Mehron Bruise Wheel.

  • Haus Triclone Skin Tech Foundation in 000 is a sheer (transparent) white, so it works to lighten any skin tone, but it’s expensive.

Materials

  • Makeup Palette with dark purple and red

    • Kat Von Dee Matte/Metal: Ribbon and Velvet

  • Light Foundation

    • Haus Triclone Skin Tech Foundation in 000

  • “Egg” Sponge Blender

  • Flat concealer makeup brush

  • Round tip blender makeup brush

Steps

  • Wash face and moisturize.

  • Put some of your foundation on the back of your hand and daub a small amount onto your blender. Gently daub the blender all over your face in small, light taps, adding more when needed, until it is evenly blended over your whole face, ears, and neck. Here’s a video tutorial on how to use an “egg” blender: Blender Tutorial

  • Use the flat concealer makeup brush with the dark purple makeup, tracing it beneath the eye and in a line down along the inner part of the “eye bag”.

  • Use the blender brush to apply the purple makeup in softer, blended areas under the eye. Work from the inner corner of the eye to be the darkest, and blend outward. You want to smooth everything out so there aren’t any harsh lines.

  • Use the red on the inner corner of the eye and blend out above and below the eye.

  • Seal the face paint with a Barrier Spray to protect from sweat and smudging, such as Mehron Barrier Spray. *Many people have sensitivities to Barrier Sprays, so test a small patch of skin before covering your face in a product.
