Description

The Crafting Bench is used to create temporary Equipment props and Inventions. Inventions are temporary Equipment that is devised, designed, and constructed by the Players, ready for immediate use. Inventions can take any form, and can serve any purpose.

Prop

The Crafting Zone will fill an entire building, providing tools, materials, and supervision.

Mechanics

Each player may only submit ONE Invention Proposal per weekend.

To invent something, you’ll follow these steps:

1: Verbally pitch the idea to a Staff member in charge of Invention approval. You only need verbal approval of your design intent at this stage, and the Staff member will try to workshop any major problems before you get started. You will schedule a time to present your Invention Proposal.

2: Assemble a team of at least 5 people, and work through the Invention Proposal Paperwork. You’ll need to pick who is going to present which parts of your proposal at this stage, and nobody can present in more than one segment. At least one person on the team must have Crafting Bench Clearance.

3: Present your full Invention proposal to the staff. The presenters of each segment will need to collaborate with the Staff on how the Invention will work and be executed at every stage. You will likely have some requirements, restrictions, or changes made to your invention in order to make the game balanced, fair, and fun.

4: After full approval from the staff on your proposal, you may then go to the Crafting Zone to physically construct your invention. Always follow the rules of the Crafting Zone and the instructions of Staff working there! Only people with Crafting Bench Clearance and members of the Invention Proposal team may assist in the physical construction of the Invention.

5: Present your completed invention to the staff for final checks. Staff will check for safety, sound construction, and if you have met all the design requirements. If approved, your invention is ready to use immediately.

Safety

You may ONLY use the crafting materials and tools provided by the game or specifically approved by the staff currently overseeing the Crafting Zone. The use of unapproved materials or tools is STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will result in the loss of your Clearance.

Do not craft things outside of the Crafting Zone. You may do minor repairs using innocuous materials such as tape, but nothing shall be cut, glues, painted, etc outside of the Crafting Zone.

You may ONLY use naked-blade cutting tools such as box cutters at the cutting station. Only one person shall be at the cutting station at a time. Nobody but the person cutting may move into the taped-off area surrounding the cutting area.

While using a naked blade such as a box-cutter, you shall ALWAYS wear safety gloves on BOTH HANDS. Auto-retracting ceramic box-cutters are exempt from this rule.

No food or drink shall be placed on or near any of the tables used for crafting. Not only can this cause spills, it might also result in somebody consuming toxic materials.

If you see something dangerous about to happen in the Crafting Zone, you MUST call a Hold.

Errata

Not all crafting materials in the game are immediately available for use. Some must be found or purchased.
