How to Invent your own Equipment

These are a demo and WIP version of the rules. New information will be posted gradually before the game launches, and some things may change.

Character Creation

Creating a character in Zero Point is easy. Select which Alien Culture you want your character to be from, figure out who they are and motivates them, and get into game. That’s it!

What about skills and abilities?

In Zero Point, characters gain almost all of their in game abilities by using Equipment. In order to use Equipment, you have to get Clearance from the station’s systems.

To get Clearances, you must spend some of your Continuing Education Units (CEUs), receive training from another character, and then pass a brief test.

Clearance training and testing occur In Character, so you can’t pre-purchase anything before you start playing. However, you will have some CEUs to start with, so you can plan out some the Equipment you plan on getting Clearance for.

The team is working on a quick start guide for each Alien Culture that will help you answer a few key questions about your character’s life, making it even easier to get into character and get into game.

Remember that your character’s history is only a starting point, and that it’s unlikely that we’ll ever return to the player’s home planets. So go big! Do something interesting!
