Description

The PUPeT Drone is a small, independently operating robot that shares a full neural link with its pilot.

Mechanics

While piloting the Drone, your character can use all of your senses through the Drone, as well as speak. You cannot use your hands.

When others are targeting this type of Drone with melee attacks, they should hit your body instead of the puppet. Ranged attacks must still target and hit the prop, so make sure your Drone prop can withstand a few blaster darts!

PUPeT Drones can silently hover from the ground up to about seven feet (or as high as you can reach your hand). Their propulsion exhaust creates a large black swirl behind them, which makes it difficult to see or interact with them from behind. (Some people think this black blob looks like their pilot, potentially a side effect of the psychic link.)

PUPeT Drones stats:

  • 1 HP

  • 1 Equipment Slot (No Armor or Backpacks)

  • 2 Drone Equipment Slots

Prop

Drone Puppet

  • Cannot be larger than one foot in any dimension.

  • Completely conceal the pilot’s hand.

  • Clearly robotic in nature.

  • Equipment that is being utilized by the Puppet Drone must appear to be part of the Drone in some way.

Safety

If it looks like somebody is about to hit your puppet with a melee weapon, feel free to call a hold and clarify that they need to tag YOU instead.

Errata

Do NOT shield your Drone from Ranged Attacks with your body.

A point blank (within 5 feet) shot from a Blaster is assumed to always hit the drone from behind, because your body is probably blocking it from a rear attack.

Test

  • Which kind of weapon attacks should target the user?

  • Want kind of Equipment can a PUPeT Drone carry?

  • What should you do if the PUPeT Drone is attacked from behind at point blank range?

  • Demonstrate the use of the PUPeT Drone.
