Description

An improvised device, the Psi Interface allows those who are not Psychic to connect with what remains of the Station Zero’s operations system. The fractured minds that operate the Station drift in and out of consciousness, and require wrangling and appeasing if you want them to do what you want.

Mechanics

Turn on the Psi Interface. Sit in the seat beneath the neural halo. Place the sensory deprivation equipment over your eyes and ears. Clearly state out loud, “Begin Synchronization.”

Perform the synchronization routine by reciting the available script. When the system speaks back to you, repeat the last word of its statements. Example:

Psi: One thousandth of a thousandth, interlinked.
User: Interlinked.
Psi Station: We are little shining pieces like plate glass, broken.
User: Broken.

Complete these statements until you are synchronized. 

When the you have successfully synchronized with the system, you will be able to speak directly with the Fragments that are left within the system. You will need to navigate various personalities while attempting to get them to do what you ask. If you displease any of these personalities, they may cause you neurological Damage.

Many of Station Zero’s systems are no longer operational, or controlled by the Legacy Crew, which have guaranteed them. If you attempt to use a system which is not available to you, you may take neurological Damage.

The capabilities of the Psi Interface are not currently known, but currently its primary use is to use the system’s sensors for recon purposes: identifying biosignatures, locate machines, analyze enemy equipment, and other mission-relevant information.

Safety

You may opt out of the sensory deprivation if it causes you undue anxiety. It’s meant to be a little uncomfortable and strange, not panic inducing.

Never touch somebody using the Psi Interface.
